The loudest teams in sports aren’t always the best ones, and we’re not pretending otherwise today. We kick things off with a fast-moving NFL offseason roundup that turns into a full honesty check on what the Minnesota Vikings need to do right, what could derail a season before it starts, and why some franchises stay glued to the headlines no matter how they actually play.

From there we jump into the NBA Finals, giving flowers to the New York Knicks and talking through what Jalen Brunson’s title run means for the whole “small guard can’t lead a team” narrative. We also look at the Timberwolves through a fan’s lens, what roster changes really matter, and why health and one more dependable guard could be the difference between another playoff run and a true Finals push. Along the way we hit quick notes on the Stanley Cup and the weird lull of summer sports.

Then it gets personal with Dad Talk: a graduation party, family emotions, and a reminder that success isn’t just money or stuff, it’s being proud of the life you build. We also get blunt about youth sports coaching, sports parents who make it about themselves, and the AAU culture that can trade fundamentals for nonstop games.

To close, we bring the fun with a top five sports movies list, a buy sell hold segment on load management, super teams, and more, plus listener questions we actually want you to answer. Subscribe, share the show with a friend, and leave a review, then tell us your starting five and the sports opinion that would get you kicked out of a Minnesota bar.

I'll even touch on the Stanley Cup Finals, touch on some basketball, some football, and everything in between. Got some pretty interesting topics today, hoping to touch on all of them. We also have a top five list that I'm kind of excited for. We'll go ahead and talk about the best sports movies.

Vikings Notes And NFL Hype

SPEAKER_00

So getting into it today, we'll go ahead and we will start with the Rough Bunker news roundup. Just a couple things. Couple off-season storylines that we got going on, obviously, with the Vikings. We have Kyler Murray picking up that other quarterback spot, which is good. I mean, he's hopefully he's gonna do his thing, and then we'll go ahead and start the season that way. Hopefully he can get it going, get it going for us, give us some athletic ability at quarterback, some experience, uh, which is a good thing. We definitely we want that. So anyway, what else do we have with the Vikings? Vikings have, you know, obviously issues, I'm sure, with Jad Addison. He's always, you know, in trouble or about to be in trouble, of course, with him and his legal issues can't seem to stay within the speed limit. So hopefully he can keep that under control. Justin Jefferson's probably frustrated with that whole thing. I know I would be if I were him. Uh, we definitely need to keep Addison on the field to give Jefferson a good chance dominating yet again. We just we need to get a quarterback in there that can throw him the ball. You know, JJ McCarthy unfortunately wasn't the guy to do that last year, and we we definitely need to just give him some help and hopefully he can learn and get some stuff done there, and then he can just learn. He just needs to sit back and watch how a professional does it. Not saying that Kyler Murray is the best option for the professional side of it, but he's definitely someone that has experience, which is a good thing. You know, he's he's got NFL time, he's been to the playoffs, he's done those things. So I think he'll he'll definitely help him out. He'll definitely give him some sort of guidance, hopefully. So, and as long as he can stay off his Call of Duty stuff, he'll be fine. Obviously, one of the other big headlines in the NFL is Myles Garrett to the Rams, and then they were talking about Aaron Donald coming back, and who knows? You know, I've said in a previous episode, you know, if if they do get Aaron Donald back, that will be the scariest defensive line in the history of football. Because, you know, Miles Garrett's probably, or arguably is the best defensive lineman in the league right now. And then to bring back probably one of the best D-tackles or defensive players that's ever played the game is definitely, definitely scary. Another one that I heard that I didn't know of the other day was that Alvin Kamara is now running back two on the Saints behind Travis Etienne, which I don't know how I feel. I mean, New Orleans is such in shambles that you you you don't even know what you're gonna get there, which is kind of sad, because well, not really, because you know, what they did to the Vikings back in 09, you know, I I don't wish terrible things on people, but I definitely don't wish great things on cheating organizations. So let's see, you know, team that's getting too much hype, you know, I I'll always say it's the Chiefs right now, or the team that I hate the most, the Cowboys. I mean, the Cowboys are they're not good, haven't been good since the mid-90s. Sorry for all you Dallas fans. They're just they're just Dallas. You know, Jerry Jones makes sure that they're in the news. That's you know, they talk about them because they're the they're the most wealthy and easy, easiest marketing team in the league. And I just I can't handle the cowboy hype. Like they're just they're not good. They have not been good since 1995. The Vikings have been to more conference championship games than Dallas has in that span. I think they're one of the very few teams in the league that hasn't had a playoff win in however many years. Like, I I honestly I don't even pay attention to them because I just cannot stand them so much. And the the fans of Dallas Cowboys are are so obnoxious. They're worse than Philly. You know, I just I can't handle, you know, it's my it's our year, it's our year, you know. If the catch happens, you know, if this happens, they're no they are the easiest marketing. You can market the cowboys anywhere in the world. They're a good, they're a big brand. And Jerry, I'll give Jerry Jones his flowers. He he did that. However, they suck at football. They're not good. They're not good at football, they're not a good football team. I'm sorry, they're just not. Before I get too angry, I'll move on to the other team that I think is way too overhyped, and that's that's the Chiefs. I get Patrick Mahomes is coming back. I get that, you know, Andy Reid is probably the best coach in the league, arguably. I I think their runs over. I really, really do. Travis Kelsey's old, Jones is old. They're just they're not they're not as athletic, they're not as dynamic. And it's unfortunate. I mean, they had a good run, they had good years. I mean, and obviously with Patrick Mahomes, you always have a chance, just like how the Patriots always had a chance with Tom Brady. So I think they are overhyped. I wouldn't overlook them, but they're definitely overhyped. A team that nobody's really talking about in the NFL. I mean, there's there's nothing that really sticks out to me, like really bad. Because there's a lot of all the good teams get talked about, all the teams that have a chance get talked about. You know, you could probably say the Raiders, because you know, Kirk Cousins is a serviceable quarterback, they don't have a lot of weapons, their defense isn't great, but I I think anybody in that division with the Chiefs doesn't get talked about enough. You know, you've got the Chargers with Harbaugh and Herbert, you've got Denver with Peyton and Bo Nicks. I mean, but Denver's gonna be good again as long as Bo Nicks is healthy. I mean, I don't he he had a great season, so I think anybody in that division with the Kansas City Chiefs, I think they're they're not very talked about by any means.

Knicks Win And Wolves Questions

SPEAKER_00

Kind of the biggest NBA offseason move so far. I mean, there's not hasn't been much going on. I'm just gonna talk about the the finals here quick. The Knicks, man, they're they're impressive. I was wrong. I I was wrong, I'll admit that right now. I I said Spurs in six, but I also did say my head said San Antonio, my heart said you know, New York. So I think the right team won, the better team won. Jalen Brunson is easily the one of the best players in the league, top top five, top six, and you can't deny that anymore. Nobody can say that a small guard can't lead a team to a championship. He just proved him wrong. Brunson's gonna he's the best Nick of all time. And I know other sports people have said that. You know, you got Patrick Ewing, Carmelo, Walt Frazier, Bernard King, you got all those guys, but you know, him being able to bring a championship to New York, I think that really solidified him. My big question is did the Timberwolves lose that trade? Did we lose the trade? Now that Kat's got a championship, even though Kat really didn't play well, he did his job. Like that's kind of what you needed from him in the finals. Like, he didn't have to play like he did in the conference finals against Cleveland. You know, he was in follow trouble. He didn't score much, they didn't really facilitate through him. You know, he he had to change his game, and I I give the guy credit, like he definitely did. He played for the team, he did what he needed to do to be effective, and they utilized him in a way that really helped him. I mean, they played well. Give give their coach credit. I mean, he he had the experience and he had his team ready. He went 7-8-9 deep at times, and give him credit. I mean, he's he's Mike Mike Brown's the one that I think won that whole thing for him. You know, our Tibbs and some of those other guys that didn't come back didn't want to be there. They, you know, shooting themselves in the foot now. You know, man, that could have been us. You know, Brown did a good job. You have to give the guy credit. I mean, Brunson played well, and Ananobi played well, Hart played well. They all then they're old and they've been in, you know, they're big and strong. San Antonio's not, they're young and and not in NBA bodies yet. They haven't been in the league long enough. So, you know, props to the Knicks. I I I like seeing that. I I like different teams winning. I'm not against dynasties, but I'm I am against I'm against the same narrative in basketball happening over and over and over. I don't like the flop culture, I don't like OKC. I don't I don't like that kind of stuff in basketball. So if somebody else is gonna win, if somebody else is gonna, you know, give them a run, I'm okay with that because I don't like watching people just fall to the floor. And Brunson didn't do a lot of that. He's a he's a six-foot guard that gets banged around. So he did a good job. Officiating was questionable at times. I I think that the league wanted San Antonio, and I think that New York kind of just said, nope, fuck you, we're doing it a different way. So, and I and I like that. I think it's good. Moving forward, do I think that San Antonio is gonna come out of the West again next season? I don't. I really, really don't. They are gonna be tough to beat. It just depends on who they pick up or if they run it back with the same people. You know, they're talking Darren Fox is gonna be gone, they're talking possibly LeBron going there, they're they're talking all sorts of nonsense. So I I just the West is so loaded, you know, and I'll be the homer, I'll be the guy that puts his puts his trust in his own team. You know, I think the Timberwolves get over the hump next year. You know, they went to the last, they went to two conference finals and they lost to the team that went to the finals this year in the semis. They just need to get one more person that can take the pressure off of Anthony Edwards. I think if the Timberwolves are completely healthy, I think they go to the finals this year. I really, really do. And you can tell me I'm wrong, you can do whatever you want to do, but that's fine. I think completely healthy with DiVincenzo, Edwards, AO staying healthy, all that stuff. I think they make the finals. So I that's just kind of what I had for that. And then I, you know, I'm gonna shout out uh congratulations, Carolina Hurricanes, uh on the Stanley Cup victory. Good good, that's awesome. I have one of my friends is a massive Carolina Hurricanes fan. So, you know, Josh, you got your wish. You've seen a couple championships before any of your Minnesota buddies are Minnesota fans. So definitely, definitely pretty cool for them, which is awesome. I'm I'm happy with that. Let's see, that's gonna be the the rough bro the rough news roundup here for us.

Hot Takes On Vikings And CFB

SPEAKER_00

Like I said, if you have any any thoughts or comments on these topics that I'm talking about, definitely uh leave a message, comment, shoot me something on Facebook, because I'm definitely open to talk about this kind of stuff. Now, the hot takes only segment, have a couple here. And I've kind of talked about a couple of these things already, but I'll definitely just I'll run through them real quick. One of the biggest things that I could see happening, one of my biggest hot takes is gonna look like hopefully the here's one of my big ones. Vikings win the NFC North next season. Hot take number one. They've got the roster, they've got the defense, they've got the coach. I think the Bears come in a little little cocky, a little hot-headed, and the Vikings take the North. You know, it all depends on quarterback play. I think you know, if Kyler Murray comes in, he could definitely have something where it looks like an MVP season. He really, really could. With the offense we have, if our offensive line stays healthy and all of our weapons can stay healthy and out of a trouble, Vikings win the NFC North. I could even see them going say 14-3, 13-4, win the NFC North and get to the NFC Championship game. That's my prediction. That that's my hot take for the Vikings. Now, also this is you know, this is one of my hot takes. This is one of my feelings. Transfer portals ruining rival rivalries and ruining college football. And hate me if you want to. You can agree, you can hate, you can do whatever you want. Transfer Portal, these kids, if they don't get their way, if they don't get the playing time they think they deserve, even if it's justified or not, they leave. Whether it be for more money, less money, they should have to pay that money back to the school that originally gave it to them. They should. You've got kids that come in and demand the world, and then when they don't get it, they get pissed off, they say, you know, fuck you, I'm going to to another school, but I spent all your money. That's not that's not good. That's not good. Do I think that there are you know different scenarios for the trans reporter? Of course. Coach leaves, injuries, maybe you lose trust in the coaching staff, maybe something happens where you gotta get closer to home, maybe something happens where you know you just need to get out of a situation. That's fine, you know. I get that. But just because, you know, you're not getting your way, and just because you think that you should play in front of the guy that's better or not better, but showing up and you're not showing up, you know, that that's ruining the sport. That's a contract you sign. If you go to a college and it doesn't include something where the coach leaves, you're hurt, academics, you know, something like that, maybe, and you just decide to leave, you should have to sit out a year. You should have to sit out that next year, redshirt or whatever. If you're already redshirted, then you gotta sit. You know, it is what it is. But the transfer portals kind of taking that that aspect out of it. But, you know, money's money. So those are my two hot takes of the week. Go ahead, like I said, give me your thoughts on them. Definitely, I'll shoot those out on on Facebook and everything else.

Dad Talk And Redefining Success

SPEAKER_00

Moving on, you know, dad talk. With this week's dad talk, we're gonna we're gonna talk about some stuff here. You know, my son has his graduation party on Saturday. It's kind of surreal, you know, firstborn graduating. It's weird. And it's been it's been difficult for myself, for my uncle, for my my wife, with my mom and my aunt gone. Uh, it's it's been it's been hard. It's been, you know, a frustrating week, you could say, I guess. Getting everything ready, getting everything done, getting everything situated, and we're still not, and it's Friday, his party's tomorrow. So, I mean, we're getting everything all set up and and put together. I just I hope he has a good time. I hope he has, you know, no stress with it. And, you know, I'm I'm hoping that we're making it as stress-free for him as possible. Just it's his day. We're celebrating him and his achievement and things like that. I mean, I think that he understands the weight that this is bringing to everybody, you know, firstborn graduating, going, you know, he's going to college, he's going over to Hibbing and whatnot. So, I mean, it's it's not like he's moving across the country, but he's definitely making a big step in his life to to becoming a true, a true adult, a true man. Not saying that he's not a man or anything like that. It's just it's a it's a growing up stage. It's a growing up stage where he has to kind of figure stuff out and and hopefully he's not too nervous with that whole thing. But it's it's a big deal. I mean, and not having my mom and my aunt there who've been a big part of his life or who were a big part of his life for a long time. It's hard for all of us for them not being able to be here, and my mother-in-law, too. I mean, you know, that my kids have lost, you know, all their grandmother influences in the last six years or so. So it's it's been hard on our whole family, uh, and knowing that all of a fa a lot of family are gonna be there is gonna help a lot. But I'm proud of him. I'm I'm proud of the man he's becoming, I'm proud of the man he is, I'm proud of the stuff that he's done and the achievements that he's had. Uh I just hope that he becomes a contributing member to society. That's all I hope for my kids. It's all I hope for my kids to to go into the world and contribute a little bit of themselves, put themselves out there, take risks, have fun, make memories, all those kind of things that that you want your kids to do and succeed. And success is not measured by money, it's not measured by what you know, what you have or the material things that you have in your life. Being wealthy and being successful is being happy with yourself. Being happy with yourself and the and your surroundings and what you've done, and just to be proud of the person that you became. That that that's the biggest thing. I'm hoping he's on his way of and in doing that. You know, a lot of a lot of people measure success with with how much money they have and how many how big their house is and how many cars they own and what kind of car they own and all that kind of all that kind of stuff. And yeah, it's it's important to people, you know, to work hard and to have a nice home, to have nice vehicles, to have nice things, toys, things like that. But if you don't have that, that does not mean that you're not successful. It does not mean that you're not a good person. It does not mean that you're not rich. Because being successful and being rich means something different to everybody. And I just want my kids to know that. Like I don't need them having six cars and a Mercedes and a Bentley and a Tesla and having a six bedroom house with five bathrooms and a pool and all this other stuff. Yeah, that'd be cool to some people, you know, if if that's what you want and that's what you want to work for, but that's not what makes you successful, and that's not what makes you rich. Having a happy, happy Happier marriage and happy kids and safe kids and clothed kids and all that kind of stuff. That that makes you rich, in my opinion. Does money help? Of course it does. Of course it does. I'm not gonna deny that. I'm not that naive, but it doesn't make you it doesn't make you less of a person or less of a man or less of a woman if you don't have that Bentley or that big truck or that big house. So just know that having all that stuff is great, but if you're not happy, it's just stuff. That's all it is. It's just stuff. Just another thing coming from Dad Talk this

Youth Sports Parents And AAU Problem

SPEAKER_00

week. I'm gonna talk a little bit about sports parents and coaching youth sports. Since I've done that, I've been in that space. I was in that space for a long time. I've done youth sports, I've done baseball, I've done volleyball, I've done basketball, and most of it on the on the girls' side, just because I have more I have daughters. My son, I wanted him to have different father figures to hear from, and other people stepped in and and that was fine. Like I'm not saying that I didn't want to do it, I just didn't have to, I guess. Uh now on the girls' side, I just I I I wanted to do it. I enjoyed it, I liked what I was doing. It was a little bit more of a challenge, and and I had a I have a great time doing it still. Now talking about like sports parents some sports parents have to realize that, you know, your kid isn't the only kid playing. They're not the only kid playing, and it's about development. You know, at an elementary level, at a youth level, it's not all about winning. Is winning nice? Of course it is. Of course it is. Are we there to win? For the most part. I mean, but it all starts at the fundamentals of the game, whether that be volleyball, basketball, softball, swimming, hockey, all of it. You have to remember that the fundamentals of the game and making it enjoyable for these kids, especially at a younger age, if you make it enjoyable, you're gonna get more kids to stick around. You're gonna get more parents to enjoy bringing their kids there. But you also have to know that as parents, your kid's not always gonna play. Like it should be more about the development of the team and the development of fundamentals for the team, for each player, than just focusing on your kid, especially at an elementary level. Nobody remembers what their record was at an elementary level. Nobody. I don't care who you are. And that might sound like loser talk, that might sound like a person that didn't win a lot in the youth space as a player or as a coach, but I can tell you right now that when I was coaching youth elementary basketball, we won a lot. I don't know the exact number, but we won a lot. We had a really good elementary team. There was a couple teams in the area that always competed with us, but for the most part, we were kicking the shit out of everybody, no matter who we played. No matter who we played. And most I'd say most of those girls still play to this day in the program that I'm associated with because we made it about the fundamentals and fun and everybody getting everybody getting in for the most part. I wouldn't call it equal playing time, but I would definitely call it I would call it somewhere along the lines of like hockey shifts. We ran a lot of it like that, whether the game was close, whether the game was a blowout or anything like that. And then we definitely played those girls that didn't have a lot of experience or a lot of fundamental stuff going on. We played them more towards the end of the game if we were blown a team out, and that's how those kids got better. You can't keep the same kids in the whole time, you just can't do it. You need to develop more than two, three, four kids in a program. That's what keeps programs good, that's what keeps programs afloat. I mean, and then you look at the the AAU program stuff, and I'm gonna stick more on the basketball side because I'm more knowledgeable on that. The the AAU stuff is all a money grab. It's so gross and it's just out of control that anybody can make an AAU team. Anybody can have something like that going on, and it's a money grab. A lot of these kids that are going into that AAU stuff, they're not progressing their game at all. They're not work working on or fine-tuning things that they're not good at. They're just not. There's way more games than there are practices, and you hear all sorts of sports analysts and sports people talk about this. That's why the Europeans are getting so much better at basketball than us, because there's more practice and there's more fundamentals than there is games. You look at a guy, and I've heard this before, I'm sure everybody else has. You know, you look at a guy like Jokic, who can't even jump over a phone book, but he's dominating in the NBA because he knows the basics, he knows the fundamentals. He's really good with his feet, he's good with his hands, he's good with his mind, he's good with his eyes, he's good with all this other stuff, and he's so unathletic that it drives people crazy. So, some and and I'm I'll get back on topic here. Some of these sports parents are just outrageous. I mean, you've got you've got parents fighting at little league baseball games of umpires over balls and strikes. Like, these people aren't getting paid a lot of money. You've got parents up a referee's ass at a youth basketball game. Man, sit down. Shut your mouth and sit down. What are you doing? That's embarrassing. If I was that kid, I would be embarrassed. I would be embarrassed to be your kid. I'd be embarrassed to be around you, I'd be embarrassed to be in that gym and on that team. And if I was a teammate of that kid, I'd be embarrassed. If I was a parent of one of the teammates of that kid, I'd be embarrassed. That's just it's gross. It is absolutely gross. Because you're making it about you and not about the player. That's that's disgusting. And there needs to be something done about that. If place is going to host a AAU or a breakdown or an elementary or junior high, or I'll even bring it up to the JV level, and you've got parents acting like that, they need to get the hell out of the school. Get the hell out of the gym, don't come back. Because it's disgusting. It looks bad on the team, it looks bad for that kid, it looks bad for that coach, it looks bad for that program, and there's too much of it going on. There's way too much of it going on, whether it be baseball, basketball, softball, whatever it may be, it's disgusting. It is utterly disgusting. It's probably one of my biggest coaching pet peeves or youth coaching pet peeves, is that you know, I've had to tell parents before you need to stop. Get out. You're not letting this kid play to the best of their ability because they're nervous about what you're gonna do or how you're gonna react. So that's just me moving forward on that. I just it drives me insane. And watching that stuff on TikTok and Facebook reels and all that kind of stuff, like it's just it's disgusting. It's really, really disgusting.

Top Five Sports Movies

SPEAKER_00

So after that being said, we're gonna go ahead and we're gonna move right into this top five sports movies of all time. And I know that Tony and I kind of did this before on Bosty Boys podcast, but I kind of wanted uh to go out there and and look and see what I could find here. You know, I I I love sports movies, obviously. Just actually recently watched Tin Cup for I think I haven't watched it in all like 10-15 years. Great movie. Kevin Costner is fucking phenomenal. Love it. So I'll lead with with that. One of my favorite sports movies, honorable mention, is Bullderum. Bullderum is one of the best baseball movies on the planet. I'll throw Hoosiers in there as an honorable mention. I will throw in Field of Dreams as an honorable mention. So those are my three honorable mentions. Bullderum. We're gonna go Boulderum, Hoosiers, and Field of Dreams for my honorable mentions. Top five in no particular order. I'm not gonna have them in a particular order. Man, I will Moneyball. Moneyball is gonna be in there. Billy Bean talking about the Oakland A's, stuff like that. Great movie. He played that role perfectly. It's a ri it's really, really good. Another one I'm gonna throw in there is Trouble with the Curve. Clint Eastwood, Amy Adams, Justin Timberlake. Fantastic movie. So my last three, then, would be my top three. Well, I'll just I'll put it in there. Not top three, no particular order. Miracle, Remember the Titans, and Sandlot. Okay. And no, two of them are Disney movies, which is crazy. I just remember going and watching Remember the Titans, Gary Bertir, you know, crying, you know, obviously with Miracle, lots of Minnesota Ties there, 1980, you know, Herb Brooks and Kurt Russell did a fantastic job playing him. Fantastic job. And then obviously with Sandlot, it's a it's a it's a favorite for everybody. I mean, there's so many you know memories with that movie. It reminds me of when I would be a kid and go out and play baseball all day. Like that's just what we did as kids. So, like I said, though that's my top five with three honorable mentions. If if you want to give me yours, give me yours. Comment on the comment on it, you know, shoot me a message. I'll go ahead, I'll discuss stuff in the next episode. Uh, anything that you comment on or anything that you share with me, I will definitely bring it up in the next episode.

Buy Sell Hold For Sports Trends

SPEAKER_00

So the next next one we're gonna do here, I have another segment here. Buy, sell, or hold. Buy, sell, or hold, obviously, it's pretty self-explanatory. So I'll give you three buys, three sells, and three holds. Okay. I'm buying on the Vikings playoff hopes. I really, really am. I'm buying on that just because based on the fact of our coaching, our defense, our weapons. Like, I'm buying the Vikings playoffs. They're going to they're gonna go. They will. It's gonna be tough, but they're gonna go. I'm also buying on Timberwolves championship windows still open. I think they have a few more years here if they can do a couple different things. Tweak the roster a little bit, get a get a guard that can score and you know, handle the ball with Anthony Edwards. I think that's a really big thing that they need to do. Also, I'm buying golf's popularity boom. Everybody's golfing, it's crazy. I've never and I just got into golfing, but I think the boom of golf right now is insane, and I'm gonna I'm gonna buy on that, and it's gonna keep going up. Less injuries, you know, keeps your body a little healthier. It's it's it's expensive, but we're I'm definitely buying on that. For sell, I'm selling cowboy hype. Fuck the cowboys, don't like them. They're still shit. They're co- I don't even know who the hell their coach is. You know, Dak is you know a mobile Kirk Cousins, they don't have a running game, their offensive line is old, they have two wide receivers defensively. I don't even I don't know. I I I have nothing I I'm selling on the Cowboys. Also, selling on load management. You know, people talk about you know, Jordan played 82 games, all these guys in the 90s and early 2000s played 82 games and there was no load management, blah blah blah, selling on it. You know, you an average fan like myself can't afford to buy a ticket, and if I do buy a ticket and the Timberwolves are playing the Lakers, and LeBron is taking the game off, or Luca's taking the game off, or whoever, as a fan, you're buying the ticket to see them. I might never get to see them again. The average family can't go to a game like that. So selling on load management, also selling on super teams, don't like it. Spread the wealth, man. Why monopolize the league with one team? You know, and the you know, the Dodgers. I'll I'll throw baseball out there. The Dodgers are a super team, like they really, really are. The Dodgers are the Yankees could be because they can buy everybody, but then you've got you know, small market teams like Minnesota and Miami and all these other ones that just they can't rub two nickels together to get any kind of player that's worth a shit to come to their to their team. So I'm selling on super teams. You know, I'm and I'm gonna hold on the next three things. I don't know how I feel about him. I'm holding on Aaron Rodgers. I mean, he's old. Can he play still? Can he not? Is he elite? Is he average? Is he below average? I'm just I'm holding. Also holding on PGA versus Live Golf. I don't know which one I like better. I haven't really decided yet. I'm just gonna hold on it. And those are the only two holds that I have that I have for this

SPEAKER_00

week. Uh so let me know how you how you guys feel on that. Comment on the episode. My listener interaction question of the for the next episode. I've got a couple. I did post on Facebook the picture with pick your starting five. Pick your starting five on that. I'll I'll go ahead and I'll do mine. I'll list my five, and then I I want you guys to list yours and we'll go from there. We'll compare, we'll debate, we'll I'll take off, I'll take whoever wants to talk about it, and I I'll comment and I'll talk about it in the next episode. So the next listener question interaction is uh what sports opinion would get you kicked out of a Minnesota bar? And you know, I I'd love to hear this. I mean, what sports opinion would get kicked out of a Minnesota bar? It kind of depends on where you go and where you are. Mine, my sports opinion, Minnesota basketball's getting to be better than Minnesota hockey. And I'll go at a high school level. High school basketball in Minnesota is on the verge of taking over to be better than Minnesota hockey in high school. Let me know what you think. Just let me let me know your thoughts, let me know your feelings, and tell me what yours is. Leave it in the comments.

World Cup Pick And Closing Thoughts

SPEAKER_00

Don't forget to share and comment on the episode. You know, and like I said earlier, just with our final thoughts here for for the episode, I'm gonna wrap it up here pretty quick. There's not a lot of sports going on right now. It's summertime. There is the World Cup. So I'm gonna go out and take a shot at the World Cup. I don't know shit about soccer. I kind of follow it a little bit when it's on ESPN, but not not too much. So my my big sports prediction as of right now, and I'll follow it as it matures here. I think Britain's winning the World Cup. That's my sports prediction. Kind of my you know, and I don't know shit about soccer, so you guys can tell me if I'm right or I'm wrong. But we'll we'll go with that for for the final thought of the episode for sports prediction. I talked about Gav's grad party, kind of a dad life takeaway. You know, I've learned over the years that you know picking your battles and letting things go is good. It's a good thing. Letting your kids kind of figure it out as they get older, let them kind of make some decisions, and hopefully you raise them the right way to make that right decision, you know, and not be scared to talk to you about it and have questions about it, you know, whether it be school or sports or relationships or you know, when they're sad, when they're happy, when they're aggravated, when you know, things like that, be there for them. Just be there. And sometimes, you know, and I don't know if it was just me, but some kids just need someone to listen to them. Well, and you know, that's whether it's your kid, somebody else's kid, anything like that. Just kind of kind of be the dad or the mum. Be the be be the parent. And listen. Kids want to be heard. Do I think that everything and everyone needs to be heard? No, I don't. But you can tell at certain points in a kid's life where they just they want to be listened to. And that you don't necessarily have to agree with them, but you know, just listen. You know, they want to be heard and and tell them that. Like I hear you. But here's my opinion, or here's my take on it, you know. And don't don't take stuff so seriously, because it is what it is, and it's gonna be what it's gonna be, especially if it's already said and done and over. Looking forward to some stuff this week, obviously with Gav's party on Saturday. Looking forward to that. Looking forward to, you know, the the stress and the the anxiousness of that uh to be gone. You know, my wife's been busting her ass, my uncle's been busting his ass, me, you know, all the kids have been helping. So I mean I think it's gonna be a big, a big stress relief, and it's gonna be a big just a it's it's gonna be a weight lifted off of all of our shoulders once it's done, once it's gone. But, you know, I'm really looking forward to the party and seeing people I haven't seen in a while and family, friends, my my son's friends, my kids' friends, all that kind of stuff. I'm I'm excited. It should be a really, really, really good time. And I'm just I'm proud of, like I said, I'm proud of him, and I'm hoping that he knows that, and and hopefully hopefully he I know he doesn't have it all figured out, but I'm hoping that he knows that he's got support and he's got family that'll help him and all that kind of stuff. So yeah, that's kind of what I got for this week on Rough Bunker Sports Podcast. Next time we'll talk about I'm gonna switch gears a little bit. I want to talk about some movie stuff. I'm really I I love movies, I love music. Uh since there's not a lot of sports going on, we'll talk about what's going on with like the World Cup and maybe we'll talk about some off-season basketball stuff, we'll talk about some some different shit like that. But I do want to kind of dabble in some movie and movie and music talk too. Because I because I do enjoy that. And I feel like I'm pr I'm not knowledgeable, but I feel like I have a pretty good handle on what I'm talking about with that kind of stuff. So, like I said, that'll wrap it up for this week. Just remember enjoy the game, enjoy your family, and don't take either for granted. And we'll see you next time uh on Rough Bunker Sports, you know.
